Unethical Nonperforming. Put 2 hard credit hits on same day

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Great credit - approved for loan.Sent tons of required documents. Paid for appraisal. Never even sent appraiser. NOTHING in terms of follow-up. Boilerplate, non-responsive emails from company HQ and cust.serv. This company should not have a business license. Unfortunately, I allowed Cardinal to take advantage of me for way too long before realizing they were a non-performing company. Do good online research before considering Cardinal. Guessing it must be their empl. who leave good reviews.

We locked into A great rate and interest rates began to rise, their focus became confusion and intimidation.

The loan officer and document specialist lack training to understand the 1040s or 1099s. Cardinal Financial website speaks of Octane an interface to send documents to them; however, documents disappear from the website and their employees have no knowledge of receiving them.

It's like groundhog day over and over and over again for the same document requests of which were previously sent. When you tell them the document was sent 2 weeks ago, they give no explanation. Cardinal financial refuses to accept financial documents prepared by A CPA/ tax attorney or Trust attorney.

You ask for A supervisor? They ignore your request.

You call their customer service to complain, and they transfer you to collections. You ask for the president of the company?

Your request is ignored.

Cardinal financial acts like A company gleaning financial information for what purpose who knows? Obviously, not for providing A loan.

I am trying to refi with them. I am a current customer trying to get a lower rate.(I was approached by them).

My experience is similar. They keep asking for documents that I have both uploaded to Octane and emailed. There are closing delays not caused by me and they are wanting me to to pay a fee for a rate lock extension. Don't get me wrong.

When the process started, it was smooth as glass. Now it seems like a disorganized office where nobody talks to each other.

I try to contact the various people/contacts in email.....crickets.. .

I am an existing customer and Cardinal has treated me unfairly

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I sent a detailed review to Cardinal through Trust Pilot. I have yet to hear anything back from them. Cardinal literally jerked me around for several months telling me that they were working on a modified remortgage for me only to refuse me in the end. The new mortgage payment was $150 less than I was already paying them. So I could pay a higher mortgage but not a lower one. Please explain this one. The only explanation I can think of is that they were being paid a lot more interest on my current mortgage and the new would not give them that fat interest payment. So this is how Cardinal helps their existing clients.

Still no word from Cardinal Finance. They act like I don't exist.

I'm still paying the high interest on my mortgage.

No one has contacted me to try and resolve this matter. Do they actually see our comments about them or is it they just don't care????

HORRIBLE SERVICE

Your company is a definite scam. I have been a client for years and since the month of July last year I have been trying to get some adjustments done to my loan and the company doesn't respond. I am going to report to the BBB immediately and I will post this in all social media. DO NOT TRY TO DO BUSSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE, you will forever regret it. You also must say that the owner of Cardinal Financial, Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. is as incompetent.

Terrible, awful customer service and system

Cardinal Financial - Terrible, awful customer service and system

20 years in my home refinanced MANY times, the worst ever. All i am trying to do is PAY my mortgage.

i paid them in advance so i could do bi-weekly flex payments. They never took money from my account. called them 3 times, emails them 3 times with my information. they never responded.

i was today finally advanced to a Supervisor, they said i suggest you follow up. i said did, i suggest someone look at the system its broken! i shouldn't have to fight to make a payment, i WANT you to take the money from my account. Each representative had a different answer.

Then i am actually told i put CASH Disbursement in the subject and that department is called CASH DEPARTMENT, so that could be why??What? i said the email address is still correct.

i have also called and that is what i was told to put in the subject line to get someones attention. i also faxed. i was on discussing the situation for 43 minutes, not kidding, told the supervisor i would be happy to send to her the emails i have sent.

And phone records. She put me on hold AGAIN. its 2:00 p.m. in California.

They are in East Coast, she comes back not realizing i am not on mute and says" i thought she would have hung up by now. and at 5:03 eastern time, she hangs up without saying anything (quitting time i guess) and the system transfers me to the Survey. This has taken over the course of 7 weeks, emails, calls and faxes. and this is just so i can prepay them, i want to pay!

Already called my loan guy asked to get me out of here. i tried to call back, they are closed.

This is where the finance system is broken. if i received this level of customer service from my gym, or cell phone, or bank i could take my business elsewhere.

as a consumer i am stuck with them until my loan is 6 months old to protect my credit so it doesn't look like i did a full cash out. Not to mention the cost I will endure just to get away when I refinance.

Bad experience with loan process

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I should have read all these bad reviews from this site, before put in my re-finance application with them. All the issues people have stated are spot on. I had done many loans and refinances in the past, never have experienced such an incompetent financial institution such as this bank. Three (3) months after put in refinance loan application, and still have not gone to closing yet. They kept on asking for the same stuff from me on 3 separate occasions during the last 3 months: pay stubs, mortgage statements, loan statements. I have excellent credit, same job, same mortgage and loan for many years, so why kept on asking for update every month, which I had to provide timely for the loan to get moving along. The local loan officer whom you are working might be good with taking the info for your loan application and follow-ups, but the team members who are supposed to work on your loan, are located around the country, they are a different story. I would never recommend this bank with anyone, regardless of how much better their rate is. Not worth all the hassles!!!

Started refinance origination process, all my information was sent and my loan originator had training for 4 days, never informed me and couldnt reach him. Their loan electronic Octane was frozen and I couldnt get help from Brian Coil to inform him of problem. I texted, emailed, and voicemails him and he got mad I was bothering him and canceled my loan application! Then called his manager, he said he would help me and he lied and never responded back to me. When Brian Coil found out I am a senior, Native American and get help from Social Services for the granddaughters I raise he stopped my loan and I have 835 credit score, only owe 165, 000 on my original loan and home appraised for 899,000 and many investments (go figure) just plain racism, sexism, and bias to elders!

I have a file of all correspondence with Dannya Mesa, Heather Prowse, and Brad Griffin. Text emails, times called with no response.

Original review Jun 10, 2020
On Jan 30, I applied for a refinance with Brad Griffin. I have been a loyal customer. Despite have sever issues with this company. I decided to refinance with Brad Griffin again. he ran my credit and took an appraisal fee and said we were good to go. We were hoping the appraisal fee will come back a little bit higher. But we were still where we wanted to be. He assured me that the process would take a few weeks and despite. We were set to close Feb 18th Cardinal financial portal system kept asking me to re submit paperwork which I sent the same paperwork no less than 15 times. Heather Prowse the transition officer started out nice, responsible, and 4 days later completely dissapeared from contact. I asked her a number of times about a water test they said I needed to re submit. I told heather I already submitted it. She said the underwriting team said it wasn't the correct one(which it was) I asked her if I should get the big inspection costing 300 dollars she says yes they will reimburse you. I got the test and submitted before the deadline now the waiting game. I was patient because now covid is hitting. I text Brad Griffin daily and send a email to heather Prowse every 3 or 4 days with no reply HeatherProwse is extremely irresponsible and unaccountable. March 31 Brad finally calls me and say "do you have any more assesst to bring to the table" I reply No. Brad says thanks you and hangs up. I call back the next day a miracle he actually answers his phone. Brad says we cant do it we missed our window because of covid. Which we wouldn't of missed the window if he closed it on the original date. I send a Email to Heather sharing my displeasure. And eureka I get a hold of the new man in the Saga Brad Mesa. Brad calls me and tells me we are going to refund you your money I say fine. I tell them everything I went through he said what if I can get you a extremely low mortgage rate streamlined it's not really what I want but I said I'll look at it as long as I'm not paying taxes escrow because I am tax exempt. I said how long will it take he said ill have it in a week. To his credit the 1st report was in portal in 2 weeks . Problem is it wasn't what we agreed on. So I contact him again tell him what happened and 30 days later I get a updated report. Which still doesn't have the changes I wanted. It was literally 2 little changes. I try to contact him several times in the last two months in which he would rarely reply and if he did it would be In a text message I will call you . 45 attempts later june 5 2020. I decided to contact cardinal financial to see to report Danny mesa to the supervisor.. I informed them of what was going on Oddly enough I began to get calls late at night from a texas number I didn't answer the 1st couple night the 3rd night it was Danny Mesa calling me after hour. The phone call wasn't pleasant but he informed me we will have to run your credit again and resubmit some paperwork and you will be good to go. The conversation went south from there after 6 months if suffering. I don't want to go through another process like this. I just want the appraisal reimbursement and water test you promise me. He said I'm in charge that is it you take the deal or I will terminate and you are not getting your money back. Danny Mesa is a liar, try to prededator loan me. I will keep fighting this fight until he is removed from cardinal financial.

Cardinal Finance refunded the appraisal fee

Original review Feb 12, 2020
Applied for and received approval for Mortgage, Provided all required documentation. Paid a $550 appraisal fee after receiving approval for mortgage.

Loan officer was attentive and available at first. Then everything went sideways, documents were asked for again and again.
They called my employer 3 times for employment verification, sent 2 faxes and several emails confirming I worked there. The head of my management team finally called me in his office and said what's going on here, this isn't normal. My wife and I had to resubmit the same documents over and over again as the closing date approached Cardinal disappeared no communication no response to emails but still demanded information through the website portal up until the day of closing.

We couldn't reach the loan officer, or processor, no return calls. On the day of closing we find out the loan is not going through. We didn't own the house for twelve months, Information they had from day 1. They bilked us out of $550 for a useless appraisal and I want it back!

This company is very Dishonest and they are Fee Thieves. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

This has become the norm in this country and the government politicians, law enforcement and the courts don't care or do a damn thing about it. I lost my home of 26 years because of a slimy refinance company that did me like this. The CFPB , courts and every politician I wrote couldn't be bothered.

Poor communication

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Christian Bruce was our loan officer, he was great in the beginning. Once we started having questions about a FHA and conventional loan, he stopped answering and returning calls and responding to emails. He fixed us up with a FHA loan and cash out. We paid the appraisal fee of $500. We started educating ourselves on an FHA loan with the help of another family member and a loan officer who we requested a quote from in the beginning. My husband and I were not happy about the additional insurance fee with the FHA loan. Mr. Bruce told us that it would cost us an additional $8,000 on top of our projected closing/loan cost to change to a conventional loan. In the end we cancelled our loan with Cardinal Financial due to the communication and loan quotes.

Disrespectful Transaction

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Rep Alicia Chermansky contacted my husband via a cold sales call. Not sure how she got our number to solicit. My husband is a retired veteran and she took advantage of his time trying hard to sell him on a refinance. I used to work in the mortgage industry, and so we consulted some of our other friends in the industry to see if it was a good deal. I politely emailed her back to let her know we weren't interested. She replied to my email continuing to push, and then sent my husband a separate text trying to get him to make the decision and told him it was insane not to do it. She even went as far as to say she would not have wasted her time if she thought we weren't interested and said to let her know if she needs to wake up at 5:30am to put this together. We politely said no thanks again, and she responded "thanks for wasting my time". We reminded her that she was the one that called my husband, and asked her to remove us from her list. We then blocked her after she continued replying with peace sign emoji's. She must be new, but needs to be fired due to her lack of customer skills in a full commission job. Pathetic.
