Not trustworthy

At the beginning of the loan process they kept coming up with bogus reasons to extend the time. I had to get proof to show them they were wrong. I at on point told them to forgot about the loan then they stopped the nonsense. We got our loan and now we are being completely overcharged in escrow.

Getting the run around

I sent them a cashier check for the reinstatement payment by express priority mail and they had to sign for it, but now a 10,000.00 check is missing even though it shows they signed to received it so they are adding more fees that I can't pay a payment until they find my other check. I would NEVER do business with this company... Run don't walk from this company. I'm trying to do the right thing and get my house out of foreclosure but no matter what I do they always have an excuse why I can't make a payment while they are looking for my other check.

They refuse to provide a reconsideration of value

I purchased a home in May of 2021 using an FHA loan and in October of 2021 I reported a $100,000.00 error and omission in my appraisal that would have rendered the home ineligible for the loan. They have refused my right to a required field review per HUD to determine the property did not qualify causing me and my two children to become homeless and over 30k in debt in attorney's fees.

User's recommendation: Cardinal Financial encourages appraisers to submit "as is" appraisals rather than the required "subject to" any repairs that may affect the health and safety of the borrower out of greed in order to close loans.

The old saying goes: "never trust anyone who says trust me". Well, that's how my first introduction went. I almost told him to not say that as it always comes back to be prophetic. They were more than 1 point over rack rates all over the web. Not from small lenders but lenders like Citi. When I asked for a better rate, they ran out the clock until the night before closing. My bad for not bidding out sooner. Now I'm stuck with these shysters until rates drop enough to refi. Thanks a lot. Don't walk, RUN away from this firm.

Only by mail

They only send notices by mail....have to submit docs through a 3rd party if there is a problem with the mortgage payments They billed and took $4200 extra dollars out of my bank account on Dec.1..I corrected the issue and they said all was good. I have to wait until Dec.17th for the money to be approved and then the only way to get it is by mail. That was my Christmas money for my family. They removed it from my account but can only mail it back..no emails or phone calls about the original issue so I didn't pick up on it until it was too late. When I asked, they said everything they do is by mail, I should have stayed with Penny Mac... You have been warned!!! James J NJ

Unpaid property tax

I was going through my income tax forms when I noticed that the property tax had not been paid out of my escrow. I called the tax office and they said it had not been paid so I paid it but had to pay a late fee. I notified Cardinal three times and wanted to be reimbursed for the late fee it never happened. They seem unorganized.

I recently made inquiries around a refinance and was routed to Cardinal. Initially, the experience was great. The agent and I did well and I provided all requested documents through their portal and was told a close date. Its almost three months later and Ive just fired them as theres been no progress, no communication, and nothing but erroneous emails. I actually started to wonder if Id been scammed as of today. DO NOT use this company!

Extreme delays in processing my loan, asking for the same docs over and over, delaying approval into next months, then asking for statements for these next months. Now after 7 payments on a fixed loan

After finally getting approved and 7 months of fixed payments, they increased my payment for an additional $150 a month, citing the need to bolster my escrow in anticipation of increased property taxes. I'm not due for assessment for another year. And now my current mortgage payment disappeared. It hasn't posted on my checking account and I have to call in a phone payment. This mortgage isn't even a year old and I feel the need to refinance to get away from this mortgage company. Hmm. My mortgage payment is posting today. It only took 13 days since it went into the USPO. So they did get it. I wonder how many days ago.

I refinanced my home with the express purpose of taking equity out of my home to payoff debt. I got the loan and the process was fairly straightforward. They disperse the money to the companies to payoff debt. They never paid off one of my debts $4000. No one will respond to me or answer my questions. So not only did the debt not get paid but they STOLE $4000 from me that I am now paying them back for! Loan officer was great Shaun Dunphy while getting the loan but no where to be found now that they have made a mistake and refuse to correctthe problem.

This company talks a big story about helping their customers but believe me that is not happening

I agree. I have been their customer for several years.

I was in the process of a loan modification and after several months of holding me hostage they told me I didn't qualify.

NOW remember I have been their customer and have paid my mortgage on time. with the loan modification it would have reduced my payment by almost $200. I was told I didn't qualify for a lower payment but I could continue being their customer and pay a higher mortgage payment. Explain that one PLEASE!

Today I requested to change the date of the month my mortgage payment was due, I was told that I couldn't do that and If my payment was late, a late fee would apply.

Meanwhile they post on their website that they are there to help their customers,,,,, What a joke.

I am working on getting rid of them and would never advise anyone to use them.

I have also posted on this website and have NOT heard a word back from them.

Their customer service is very incompetent, They don't call you back, they can't talk to anyone else in another department which delays all of processes. They ask for the same information over and over again and no one seems to know what the other departments are doing so in the meantime, you the customer are left in limbo for months.

Start from the beginning... You stopped making your payments.

They're not to blame for that...and you qualify for a modification.

THEY'RE not to blame, go back and read the Note you signed agreeing to make your payments each month. You only have yourself to blame for this.

They locked me into a rate, then changed the rate at the end before closing. Would not close the refinancing for whatever the reason. They Would come up with all sorts of bogus reasons to not close and never delivered on anything. DO NOT Deal with these crooks or have them keep you on a hook for months. Stay away from this company.

They have finally stopped calling..

Every other day they call me. Every other day they say they will take me off their calling list. To do this every other day I have given them my name, address, phone number and email address. This has flat out turned into harassment. I will never do business with a company that can't understand no means no and then proceeds to call and call and call and call and call.

I have been on hold for 46 minutes and counting. Trying to reach customer service with a simple question about my mortgage. This was my 4th phone call to them after being cut off the first 3 calls. Don't know who is running this company, but looks like they don't spend any money towards keeping clients happy. Ugh!

After delays and delays and more and more 'needed' (and duplicated) documents, we finally just gave up on this unprofessional company. The underwriters are seemingly incompetent and the loan representatives spend their time blowing hot air. Completely unprofessional and should have business license reviewed as they act like middle school students working on a class project without direction.

Continued Robo calls with illegal spoofed phone numbers

I submitted my information so I could review quotes from other companies. I went with another mortgage company. I have told Cardinal Financial several times to remove me from the call list. I get a Robo call with illegal spoofed number every morning at 9:14 AM. We are retired and sleep late. This continually wakes us up. This company has no ethics and I do no recommend ever giving them your information for a mortgage loan. They will hound you relentlessly.

I have been trying to get a loan closed for 6 months and it still has not happened. The staff will not keep you up to date and will not return phone calls. Most of the problems encountered with the loan, I had to handle because the staff seemed uncaring or unknowledgeable.

i am currently trying to do a cash out refi. i told them how much and the guy totally ignores me.

he does not return calls. the customer suppport is only there to make up excuses the other employees and no one can answer a question.

i thought this would be a quick process as they have my current mortgage, but this process is stupid. not to mention they have the most outrageous fees.
